Joel Campbell joins Sporting Lisbon
oel Campbell finally broke into Arsenal’s first-team last year, having been sent out on loan four times previously. Many Arsenal fans were impressed with the Costa Rican international but were frustrated at Wenger’s apparent lack of faith in him.
Earlier in the week, it was reported that Campbell would join Sporting Lisbon on loan, which as of this afternoon has now been announced by Sporting Lisbon.

The 24-year-old scored four times in 30 first-team appearances for the club last year but doesn’t seem to be a part of Wenger’s plans for this season.
The move is a slightly strange one considering that Iwobi is injured, Walcott is inconsistent and Sanchez seems to be Arsenal’s second-choice striker, leaving Oxlade-Chamberlain as the only established winger at the club.
While a loan might be the best for Campbell’s development, it could also prove costly for Arsenal later in the season.
