Arsenal agree fee for Leicester City star
According to Eurosport France, Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez has agreed to join Arsenal in a £41.8 million deal. A few days ago Claudio Ranieri stated that he was convinced that the Algerian winger was staying at the recently crowned champions, but now all the rumours point in the direction that Mahrez is coming to North London.
Last season, the Algerian international was voted as ‘PFA Player of The Season’ for his amazing performances in Leicester’s title -winning season. He was involved in 29 goals last season, scoring 18 and assisting 11. It’s reported by Eurosport France that the Algerian international has chosen Arsenal to be his next destination, after being linked with the Gunners for a few months now.
If Mahrez leaves, he will be the second star player to leave Leicester, after N’golo Kanté decided to join Chelsea a few days ago. Mahrez and Kanté joined Leicester for less than £10 million, so it will be great business for them to sell them both for a combined fee of £70 million. after the Vardy saga, however, Arsenal fans will be weary of this speculation.
