Reports emerged earlier this week that Bolton had accepted a £2 million fee, for defender, Rob Holding.
The young defender had been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in the last few months, and it emerged that Arsenal had two initial bids rejected by Bolton. This week, however, Arsenal increased the fee and quickly agreed personal terms with the young defender.

Now the transfer has been made official, with Arsenal.com announcing the signing this afternoon.

Holding was part of the England under-21 team which won the Toulon Tournament this summer, playing alongside, now club mate, Calum Chambers.
The under-21 international was superb for Bolton last season and was awarded Bolton’s ‘Player of the Season’ award. Holding is mainly a centreback but can also play as a fullback and has the technical ability to play as a holding midfielder in the future.
This is Arsenal’s third signing this summer, and many will hope for a couple more before the window closes.
