In a summer where Arsenal seemed to have been linked with every top striker in Europe, now the North London club have been linked with Napoli striker, Gonzalo Higuain.

According to Calcio Mercato, (h/t The Mirror), Arsenal will battle West Ham for the Argentinian striker. It is understood that Arsenal will offer €50 million plus Olivier Giroud for the Napoli striker, while West Ham are understood to have bid €70 million.
Following this speculation, Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli, reported that Arsenal have agreed wages with Higuain.
Twitter: Higuain’s agent (his brother) has already agreed with Arsenal a wage of €9mln for 5 yrs. Bid to Napoli not officially done yet but expected (@EmaGiulianelli)
Although Arsenal have agreed wages with Higuain, no bid has been lodged with Napoli as of yet, as Giulianeli also confirms.
Twitter: Napoli unlikely will accept the offer of 60mln + Giroud: they want all cash, 70mln + 8mln easy bonus. #Arsenal (@EmaGiulianelli)
Higuain is one of the top strikers in the world and will command an incredibly large fee. Regardless of the fee, signing Higuain would be a major coup for the club and would finally address the lack of quality up front.
