Club legend returns to coach at Arsenal
n what will come as welcome news to all Arsenal fans, ex-captain and club legend, Tony Adams, will reportedly be returning to the club as a coach. According to the Daily Mail, the club legend will return to coach the under-18 squad.
After spending 22 years at the club, the ex-Arsenal man left under somewhat acrimonious circumstances. Although a club legend, Adams was disappointed not to be given a coaching role when he left. He then went on to coach Wycombe Wanderers, Portsmouth – as an assistant to Harry Redknapp – and Azerbaijani team, Gabbala, to which he also served as sporting director until recently.
Adams’ defensive prowess will be invaluable, as Arsenal have suffered defensively at every level. Moreover, it will be refreshing for the fans to see so many ex-players coaching at the club, with Thierry Henry and Freddie Ljungberg, also coaching at the Arsenal academy.
The return of Tony Adams is great for the club, and who knows, he could be honing his craft to one day replace Arsene Wenger.
