Arsenal submit bid for Brazilian international
According to a report from ESPN Brazil, Arsenal have submitted an offer for Santos forward Gabriel Barbosa, also known as Gabigol.
The 19-year-old is highly touted as one of the next major stars to come from the South American country and it looks like Arsenal may well have jumped ahead of other interested clubs in attempt to get a deal done sooner rather than later.
As is often the case when signing a player from South America, Arsenal will have to deal with a third-party who own some of Gabigol’s rights.

Currently his rights are divided between Santos, who own 40%, investment group Doyen Sports, who own 20%, and the athlete himself who owns 40%.
Premier League rules won’t allow any third-party ownerships so the Gunners will have to compensate all parties involved in order to acquire the player.
The Brazilian international recently admitted that his future was up in the air, so it remains to be seen if he’ll be a Gunner next season.
