Arsenal join race for Fulham hotshot
Having been linked with Alvaro Morata and Jamie Vardy over the last few weeks, it seems Arsene Wenger has finally realized that he needs to bolster Arsenal’s front line.
Due to Danny Welbeck’s injury and the uncertainty of Theo Walcott’s future, the striker position is of even more importance for Arsenal this season. The most recent striker to be linked to the club, according to ESPN, is Fulham striker, Moussa Dembele.
Dembele moved from PSG’s youth academy to sign for Fulham in 2012. Having played just over a year in the academy team – winning the under-18 League in the 2012/13 season – Dembele made his debut for Fulham at the age of just 17-years-old.
Two seasons on, and the young Frenchman has enjoyed the best year of his career, scoring 15 goals and seven assists in 43 appearances in the Championship last season (according to (transfermrkt).
The talented young striker was set to join Tottenham Hotspur in January, only for the move to fall through. His contract, however does run out at the end of this month, leading to many clubs now monitoring him.
With Welbeck’s long-term injury and Jamie Vardy’s transfer seemingly becoming more unlikely, signing Dembele as a free agent could well be a viable option for Arsenal.
