Arsenal lose ground on Egyptian prodigy
Arsene Wenger has long been a master at finding young talented prospects. While in recent years Arsenal have shifted their focus to more established stars, – due to their improved monetary standing – Arsene Wenger is always on the look out for the next great young talent.
Recently Arsenal have been linked with Egyptian midfielder, Ramadan Sobhi, according to ESPN however, Stoke City have jumped ahead of Arsenal, by submitting a bid for the highly rated midfielder.
Ramadan Sobhi currently plies his trade for Egyptian club side, Al Ahly,where the 18-year-old has scored three goals and provide seven assists this season. Such were his performances that Arsenal tried to bring the youngster on trial, although it never materialized; Sobhi, has also drawn interest from Italian side, AS Roma.
Sobhi broke into the Egyptian national side at 17-years-old, and has since scored one goal while making six appearances.
It is understood that Mark Hughes is keen to bring the youngster into his new look Stoke side, to add to his already talented crop of players, such as Shaqiri, Arnautovic, Bojan Krkic and Imbula.
Although Al Ahly will not want to lose one of the best talents to come out of Egypt, the allure of the Premier League will surely be too great.
