Arsenal have long been criticized for not having a true world-class striker. Olivier Giroud has had done well over the last few years, but he has never really filled the shoes of Robin Van Persie.
With Danny Welbeck out for nine months, Arsene Wenger has identified a new striker as one of his transfers this summer. One of the potential strikers Arsenal could sign, is Juventus striker, Alvaro Morata. According to Corriere dello Sport – via the Mirror – Arsenal will lodge a £51 million bid for the Spanish striker.

The transfer of the striker could prove difficult for Arsenal, however. According to reports, Madrid inserted a buy back clause in Morata’s contract. If Madrid do indeed to buy Morata back, Arsenal might face a tricky situation in order to seal the transfer.
According to reports, Madrid are currently negotiating a £23 milllion transfer for Morata to return to the Bernabeu. After this, it is understood that Madrid will then sell Morata off to the highest bidder, which could indeed be Arsenal.
If this is true, Arsenal would break their current transfer record (£42.5 million). While the fee may be expensive, Morata could be the striker Arsenal need to win them the title.
