Arsenal were handed a double boost ahead of their Premier League fixture against Watford this weekend, as both Jack Wilshere and Petr Cech returned to full training.

The north London side trained at London Colney ahead of the return of England’s top division on Saturday afternoon, with Arsenal desperate to overturn their 11 point deficit at the hands of Leicester City.

While Wilshere will certainly not be included in Saturday’s squad for the game against Watford, it will come as good news to supporters to see the England international back in training after breaking his leg prior to the start of the season.

Cech, meanwhile, could be back in contention but is likely to fall short.

The likes of Danny Welbeck, Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, Mohamed Elneny, Francis Coquelin and in-form Alex Iwobi all took part in the training session.

Iwobi is expected to retain his place in the side.

Meanwhile, Gabriel is expected to start ahead of Per Mertesacker after picking up form and being allowed a rest during the international break, while the likes of Nacho Monreal and Ospina are both expected to start.

Youngsters Jeff Reine-Adelaide, Ismael Bennacer and Chris Willock all trained at London Colney on Friday morning.
