Ospina shrugs off back injury
Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina returned to action after an injury worry, featuring for the full 90 minutes in Colombia’s 3-1 victory over Ecuador in their World Cup qualifier.
The 27-year-old ‘keeper pulled up during the Premier League game against Everton a couple of weeks ago, holding his back.
However, he continued on and completed the game at Goodison Park.Days later on international duty, Ospina started for his nation against Bolivia and again pulled up with a back injury, completing the 90 minutes nevertheless.
After the injuries, there were worries that the Colombian could have aggravated his injury but having featured without any issues against Ecuador, appears to be over any previous problems.
Whether Ospina starts at the weekend in Arsenal’s return to the Premier League against Watford is something that Arsene Wenger will reveal in the coming days, with Petr Cech believed to be ready after his own battle with injury.
