Chilean under-17 captain Marcelo Allende recently spent two weeks on loan at Arsenal from Sports Santa Cruz, according to reports in the Mail Online .

The 16-year-old attacking midfielder is widely regarded as one of the South American nation’s hottest talents and played for the same club that winger Alexis Sanchez started his career at in Cobreloa.

Allende was an impressive feature for Chile at the under-17 World Cup last year and could make the move to north London, having impressed when invited to Arsenal to train for two weeks under the watchful eyes of Andries Jonker as well as a number of other scouts at the club.

The Chilean midfielder reportedly spoke to Alexis during his time at the club in order to receive advice about the best practice for impressing the club, with the 27-year-old superstar advising the five-four-four midfielder to continue building his strength in order to be able to handle the physical demands of English football.
