Arsenal striker Kaylen Hinds has heaped praise upon potential new signing Kelechi Nwakali, after it was revealed that the 17-year-old was close to completing a move to the north London side.
The England under-17’s centre forward has been in scintillating form for the under-18’s and has trained a number of times with the first-team, earning his plaudits and has been tipped for a bright future.
Having featured for his national side at the under-17’s World Cup in 2015, Hinds was able to watch reported future teammate Nwakali, and as reported by the club’s official website, the 18-year-old claimed that the Nigerian is a ‘killer finisher’.

Watching and learning about other teams and players [at the World Cup] and different styles was a valuable experience. There was a lot of talent on show that I am sure we will soon see in the Premier League. Nigeria won the tournament and they were deserved winners and they had the best player on show in attack in Kelechi Nwakali. He is a really quick, inventive striker with a killer finish.
I see that he has been linked with Arsenal in the media and if he joins us I am sure he will develop into a top player. I came back from the World Cup quite refreshed and keen to get the season off to a good start. I did a lot of recovery exercises after every game and I think that helps.
Nwakali’s contract is close to being finalised with a move to Arsenal nearing completion, all that is required is for the youngster to have a medical, with personal terms believed to have already been agreed on a five-year deal.
The Nigerian will provide stern competition for the likes of Hinds in the under-18’s and likely Stephy Mavididi for the under-21’s, as all three look to stake their claim for first-team football in the coming seasons.
