Read Arsenal voters have had their say on who should replace Arsene Wenger as the next manager of the north London club. 10 options were considered, with the likes of Ajax’s Dennis Bergkamp, Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone, Borussia Dortmund’s impressive Thomas Tuchel and Southampton’s Ronald Koeman all amongst the favourites to land the job.
Wenger has come under increased scrutiny over the past few weeks because of poor results, with Arsenal 11 points behind Premier League leaders Leicester City, on the verge of UEFA Champions League knockout and out of the FA Cup – leaving many supporters angry and calling for him to be replaced.
Read Arsenal recently ran a poll on Twitter for supporters to decide as to whether they’d like to see the Frenchman replaced, and over 80% confirmed they would like to see him leave the club in the summer.
Due to the overwhelming vote, a poll was run on who Arsenal fans would like to see replace the Frenchman, with the results below.
Best of the rest
2% of voters want to see Manuel Pellegrini
3% of voters want to see Steve Bould or Quique Sanchez Flores
4% of voters want to see Thierry Henry
5% of voters want to see Frank de Boe
5. Thomas Tuchel (6%)
The Bundesliga manager has been hugely impressive since taking over a depleted Dortmund side, getting the best out of the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and co.
4. Dennis Bergkamp (8%)
The Dutchman has never managed a football club before but if he could transfer his playing philosophy to a managerial role, hiring Bergkamp could prove truly special.
He has previously hinted that he has no interest in managing, however.
3. Ronald Koeman (9%)
9% of voters want to see Ronald Koeman take over as Arsenal boss when Wenger leaves.
He’s been very, very decent since managing Southampton and could be the breath of fresh air that Arsenal need.
2. Joachim Low (24%)
The Germany manager is a bookies favourite to become Arsenal boss when Wenger leaves.
He’s hugely successful at both club and international level, so why not take the punt?
1. Diego Simeone (37%)
It’s confirmed: 37% of voters want to see Simeone brought in to manage Arsenal when Wenger leaves.
The Atletico boss would bring in a vastly different playing philosophy to the club, but could the change be just what the Gunners need?
