According to Don Balon, Arsenal afe interested in acquiring Real Madrid and Costa Rican international goalkeeper Keylor Navas this summer. However, Liverpool will attempt to rival the Gunners in attempting to gain the Madrid man’s signature.
With David Ospina contemplating his future with the north London side, the Gunners could look to replace their back-up ‘keeper by signing Real Madrid fan favourite Navas.
Despite this, the player most likely will not join Arsenal if he is being offered a secondary role with the club. Petr Cech is currently the top ‘keeper at the club, but with the signing of Navas, there may be much need competition for the number one spot.
Navas may not want to give up his post at Real Madrid, where the Costa Rican has been since singing with the La Liga giants back in 2014 from Levante.
The goalkeeper has appeared in 26 regular season matches collecting nine total clean sheets, averaging around two saves per game and conceding less than a goal a match.
In comparison to Navas, Cech’s numbers are a tad worse. He averages one goal conceded per contest in the Premier League and 1.4 in the UEFA Champions League.
