Arsenal are set to face north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon in what is arguably their biggest and toughest game of the Premier League season.
The Gunners go into the game in poor form, having lost their last three games in all competitions.
Spurs, on the other hand, come into the North London Derby in fine mood despite their midweek loss to London rivals West Ham United, having won their previous six in a row.
With Mauricio Pochettino finally getting his side playing the way he wants and to their full potential, they now pose real title challengers and go into the derby as favourites.
Arsenal know that if they fail to gain all three points at White Hart Lane, it’ll make their title bid all the more difficult.
There is no better time to get back to top form than the North London Derby, it just comes down to how the team is feeling on the day.
All of that said, if Arsenal were to combine their team* with their rivals’, who would get into the starting XI?
*Disclaimer, this side is based on current form and fitness*
Goalkeeper: Hugo Lloris
Lloris gets into this side over Cech for two reasons.
Firstly, let’s face it – he’s an unbelievable goalkeeper.
When Spurs were not at their best, he was their best player, without doubt.
He’s a great shot stopper, commands his box well and exudes confidence into his defence.
Secondly, Petr Cech is injured. If he wasn’t, he’d be in this side.
Right back: Hector Bellerin
The Spanish full-back may not be in the greatest of form at the minute, but he is still very, very good at football.
He’s better than Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier, so this one isn’t all that tough.
Centre back: Per Mertesacker
This may be a surprise to some, but the BFG makes it into this team.
He’s a solid defender, there’s no doubting his ability. He’s assured in his positioning, shouts when required and organises his teammates.
Deserving of his position.
Centre back: Toby Alderweireld
How good is Alderweireld?
He poses the biggest challenge to Arsenal on Saturday, whoever comes up against the Belgian will face an incredible battle.
He gets into this side without doubt.
Left back: Nacho Monreal
Monreal gets in.
Danny Rose, in fairness, has been quite good as of late. But he seems to be rotating a lot this season with Ben Davies because he can, at times, be inconsistent.
Monreal is the opposite, he’s great, all of the time.
Centre midfield: Francis Coquelin
The Frenchman is really good. He knows what to do in the team and has more to his game than Eric Dier, as good as the Englishman is.
Coquelin will be so important on Sunday.
Centre midfield: Dele Alli
Every team that didn’t sign Dele Alli missed out.
He’s so, so good.
And he’s only 19-years-old!
Has really impressed in his debut Premier League season, a dynamic midfielder who could and should start for England this summer at Euro 2016.
Right wing: Joel Campbell
That’s right, Joel Campbell makes this team.
He doesn’t start all that often, but he should. When he does, he’s always very, very good.
Scored against Swansea midweek and was withdrawn with time to play, should have the fitness to cope on Saturday.
Attacking midfield: Mesut Ozil
The German is a shoo-in.
It was easy, despite how good Christian Eriksen has been this season.
Neither seem to have a fantastic impact in the ‘bigger’ games, but Ozil’s consistency this season and contribution to so many goals sees him get in this team.
Left wing: Erik Lamela
Lamela has been good this season.
His place in this team is out of position, but he can bring the ball inside and has great crossing ability.
The Argentine has impressed and is finally going some way to justifying his price tag.
Can he have an impact on Saturday? Let’s hope not.
Centre forward: Harry Kane
Not in the best goalscoring form of late, but Harry Kane is another who gets in no questions asked.
He’s similar to Olivier Giroud in that he brings his teammates into the game because of his strength and hold-up play.
