On Tuesday evening, Arsenal took on Barcelona, the current holders of the UEFA Champions League.
The Gunners were heavy underdogs but managed to defend well for most of the match. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to capitalise on their chances and Barcelona broke through in the second half to win the first leg 2-0, courtesy of a Lionel Messi brace.
The match was played amidst an electric atmosphere at the Emirates. Gunners supporters were in full voice as Arsenal were able to prevent Barcelona from getting a shot on goal in the first half. However, despite their best efforts, Barcelona was just too good. And now the north London side face another probable round of 16 exit when they had to Camp Nou for the second leg.
