After breaking into Arsenal’s first team last year, Hector Bellerin has been a revelation. Due to a serious injury to then first team choice right back Matthieu Debuchy, The 20-year-old has gone on to become a consistent and solid player.
Last year, many were surprised that the young Spaniard gained a chance in the first team, but also that he has been one of Arsenal’s best players since then. After a shaky debut against Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League, Bellerin has improved greatly to become one of the best right backs at in the league and a contender to be in the Team of the Year, at just 20 years of age.
We speak the same language, so it is much easier to communicate with each other.
We enjoy a very good relationship on and off the pitch. That helps us a lot when we are playing, by speaking with each other, helping each other and giving indications to give our best to the team.
He is enjoying a very high level, but I think he can give even more. He has the potential to be one of the best in the world.
He is showing that now, but he is still very young and he has a long way ahead. So I think the best of Hector is yet to come, we haven’t seen it yet.
Hector Bellerin turns 21 this March, but is getting constant first team action and is playing at a very high level. With all this considered, it’d be hard for anyone not to agree with Campbell that he still has so much more potential to fulfill.
