Arsenal and Costa Rican winger Joel Campbell recently admitted he is massively grateful to Arsenal for the chances that that they have given him and firmly believes that despite his impressive form so far this season, he is just as important as every other member of the squad.
The 23-year-old has been in fine form for the Gunners and has been instrumental to several of their wins this season. Prior to this season, the youngster spent several years abroad and admitted that his loan spells helped to develop him as a player.
Campbell conceded to Arsenal Player that he must continue to work hard for the Gunners and is more than happy being part of the current squad and doing his part to help them achieve success.
The truth is that I am just doing my job. I’m trying to give my best for the team and taking my opportunities. Thank God things are going well.
I just see myself as another member of the team. Neither more nor less than the rest of my team-mates. Football is like that.
Despite not being a firm choice for the Arsenal starting line-up yet, Campbell admitted that he is happy to take any and every opportunity he is presented with. The Costa Rican also admitted that he is prepared to continue his hard work so that he is rewarded.
It can change from one day to the following one. You’re here today but you do not know where you are tomorrow. Today you are in the starting line-up and tomorrow you are on the bench. Football is about moments and you have to take them.
Obviously when someone works well and conscientiously he will always see the fruits, sooner rather than later. I work hard and trust in my ability. And I know that with hard work and effort the things will be all right for me.
