According to reports in the Express, Arsenal are set to rival fellow Premier League giants Chelsea in their pursuit of Colombian international forward Jackson Martinez as Arsene Wenger assesses his striking options.

Arsenal, already with forwards Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck, are in a good position in the Premier League, sitting comfortably at the top of the league and in superb form, however, it would come as no surprise to see the title hopefuls make a move to bolster their front line.

Martinez has been widely regarded as one of the world’s best strikers since showing his class for former club Porto, however, since joining Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, the Colombian international has struggled to really impose himself on La Liga under Diego Simeone.
