Guardiola to target Arsenal ace at next club
Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola has announced that he will move to England, with a view to managing a Premier League side next season. With this announcement, it seems almost every club will now roll out the red carpet for the Spaniard.
I want to experience a new city and I want to work in England. That is the reason I have taken this decision.
I have an opportunity to work in England. I think I’m at the right age and I feel it is the right move for me.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City are all keen on hiring the ex-Barcelona manager. It is Manchester City, however, who seem to be leading the race for his services. Guardiola has ties with Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain from when he managed Barcelona, thus leading to many believing City will be his likely destination.
Following his decision to come to England, it has been reported by the Express that Pep Guardiola has targeted Alexis Sanchez as his first signing. The Chilean, who played under Guardiola at Barcelona, is valued at around £45 million. Although the allure will be great, it is unlikely that Arsenal will allow their star man to leave.
The Chilean has been an Arsenal favourite since he joined the club, and would be a huge loss if he left, especially if he left for a rival.
