Mohamed Elneny is reportedly closing in on securing his transfer to Arsenal from Swiss giants FC Basel after the Egyptian midfielder was granted international clearance ahead of a £5 million move to the Emirates.
It was recently reported that the defensive midfielder was allowed to skip Basel’s Tuesday training session in order to secure a move to Arsenal and fly over to North London to iron out minor details regarding the transfer.
A medical for Elneny has already taken place and it is believed that the Egypt international was successful in his test for the transfer, shortly before gaining his clearance to go ahead with the move.

Elneny is set to sign a four-year deal that will take him through to 2020 with the Gunners and is certain to boost boss Arsene Wenger’s midfield options after the injuries to Francis Coquelin, Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla.
The 23-year-old will be Arsenal’s first outfield signing this season.
