Arsenal have agreed a fee with Basel for Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny, according to John Cross of the Mirror.
The two clubs reportedly settled on the fee in the last few days, which is likely to be in the region of roughly £5m.
Elneny will be brought in to shore up the currently lightweight midfield, with the likes of Francis Coquelin, Mikel Arteta, Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla all currently on the sidelines.

At 23-years-old, the Basel midfielder will bring plenty of potential to the table and could prove to be a shrewd signing for the Gunners.
Elneny is expected to slot straight into a deep midfield role, alongside Aaron Ramsey – currently partnering Mathieu Flamini – in the positions ahead of the defence.

If Elneny is brought in, it’s expected he will be the only signing the north London side will make in January, with Arsene Wenger targeting Victor Wanyama next summer.
