Arsenal are set to face current European champions Barcelona in the round of 32, after the draw revealed the north London side’s fate on Monday morning.
The La Liga giants have faced the Gunners seven times in the UEFA Champions League, with the most recent fixtures in 2011. The first fixture was hailed as one of the greatest in Arsenal’s greatest, beating Barcelona by two goals to one in electrifying fashion, with Andrei Arshavin scoring the winner at the Emirates. It wasn’t enough, however, with a masterclass from the Spanish side seeing them win by four goals to three on aggregate.

The first fixture will take place at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, 23rd February, before the return fixture at the Camp Nou on Wednesday, 16th March.

English rivals Manchester City drew Dynamo Kiev, while Chelsea are set to face cash-rich French side Paris Saint-Germain.

This is the first time Arsene Wenger will have faced Luis Enrique during his spell at Barcelona.
