Arsenal have continuously been linked with a number of different players from all over the pitch this summer, and one who has been heavily touted for a move to north London is Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak .
Krychowiak’s release clause sits at a reported £21.2m, a fee that Arsene Wenger would be made to pay for the Poland international’s services. Prior to Arsenal’s 0-0 draw with Liverpool on Monday night, Gary Neville branded Arsene Wenger’s lack of signing a ‘powerful’ defensive midfielder as ‘arrogant’, but the boss was quick to deny that was the reasoning behind it: “I don’t know what that has to do with arrogance. You find all kinds of attributes from this.

“I’m here so I’m quite used to it and I try to do my job well, which is all I try to do.
“I’ve been doing that for 20 years in England. After that, I leave the judgement to everybody, for them to assess the quality of my work.”
Krychowiak would certainly fit the bill of a powerful midfielder, who would provide sure-fire competition for the likes of Francis Coquelin, who currently, bar Mathieu Flamini, has no real competition for his place in the side.

Mikel Arteta’s role in the side can be both defensive and attacking, with his passing ability far superior to that of Coquelin’s, but his ability to dominate the midfield and take the game by the scruff of the neck has come into questioning, and 25-year-old Krychowiak could be the man to press the former Charlton man for his place in the side.
