Arsene Wenger has shed some light on the state of his squad ahead of this weekend’s Premier League game against Crystal Palace.
Having suffered a shock 2-0 defeat to West Ham at the Emirates last weekend, the Gunners will be looking to get into the swing of things at Selhurst Park on Sunday and kick-start their title bid.
According to the official Arsenal website, Hector Bellerin is back in contention ahead of the trip to Palace, having missed out last weekend through injury. He’s said to be available for selection, which should mean he’ll replace Mathieu Debuchy at right-back from the start of the game. The young Spaniard made 17 starts in the league last season and will now look to establish himself after a solid debut season.
Alexis Sanchez is also expected to return to Wenger’s starting line-up for the first time since his involvement in Chile’s first ever Copa America win this summer. The 26-year-old scored 16 goals in 34 starts in the league in 2014/15 and is expected to have a big impact again this term.

Jack Wilshere however, will not be making his comeback anytime soon, as expected. He is going to be sidelined for another two weeks through injury but his manager has confirmed that he is on schedule, which is promising news. Danny Welbeck is also on the road to recovery but isn’t yet ready to play.
Tomas Rosicky is another who certainly won’t feature at Selhurst Park. He’s had surgery on his knee and despite his agent’s claims that he’ll miss 4-8 weeks of action, Wenger has confirmed it will be even longer. The manager was however unable to enlighten the media as to how much longer, though.

There are no injuries to report on from the game against West Ham, or from this week’s training (at the time of writing), so the squad to face Palace on Sunday will be near a full-strength one.
