Alexandre Lacazette has spoken out over his future after recently being linked with big money moves to both Liverpool and Arsenal. Hubert Fournier, the Lyon coach, values Lacazette at around £42 million after an outstanding season with the French side that narrowly missed out on the Ligue 1 title to Paris Saint Germain. Lacazette played a huge role in Lyon’s season, bagging himself a solid 31 goals in only 38 games. Only Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo can boast a more impressive tally than the Frenchman.
Goal.com report that Lacazette is more than happy with current side Lyon and has no intention of moving: “I want to show those who think that I have my head elsewhere that I’m still here… I have already said that I want to continue with Lyon”.
With many players in the current market often choosing big money moves to clubs who will increase their wages, Lacazette argues that money is not what drives him but he is instead motivated by his performances and helping his team as much as he can: “I have shown that I’m fully committed. It’s football that interests me, not money. I hope to have a strong season”.
Lacazette recently starred in a friendly against AC Milan as he helped his side win by 2 goals to 1, getting the winning strike. He believes that much of the victory over the Italian giants was down to the chemistry between the Lyon players which helps create a rhythm in their game. “It’s good. We want to highlight our preparation, to work on our fluidity… We know each other for the most part. We played a good match against a strong team and in a nice atmosphere”.
The French international also commented on his new strike partnership with Claudio Beauvue: “It gives you the desire to continue. It was my first match with Claudio Beauvue. He has qualities, which we know. We’ll continue to work together”.
For now it seems that Alexandre Lacazette will be staying with Lyon, however, should any interested teams be willing to splash the cash on the Frenchman, Hubert Fournier and Lyon “will no doubt have to prepare for his exit and wish him good luck”.
