Arsene Wenger is targeting two new recruits at The Emirates that will improve the FA Cup winners at both ends of the field.
Wenger has been reported by Mundo Deportivo to want PSV forward Zakaria Bakkali who has already been dubbed ‘The New Eden Hazard’. The teenagers contract at PSV is running out at the end of this month and that suits Wenger who has already warned fans he will not be spending huge amounts this summer.
Bakkali only played 5 matches this season but did manage a goal and an assist in that time but Arsenal will be judging him on the 2013/14 season where he enjoyed a Europa League campaign and even Champions League qualification round where he netted one goal against Zulte Waregem.
At the other end of the field Petr Cech may have too much competition for Arsenal to compete with many European giants been alerted to the goalkeeper’s availability with Jose Mourinho seemingly happy to sell his number 2 for the right price.
So if a deal for Cech can’t be reached, Iker Casillas may be an option according to the Evening Standard. Arsenal will be interested in the Spanish shot stopper who has come under huge pressure at Real Madrid this season despite 12 clean sheets.
Benitez looks content with losing Casillas this summer given a replacement is found and Wenger will keep his options open this summer with Arsenal not the only club looking for a shot stopper.
